gm gm,
Itβs here and we can hardly contain our excitement! After months of thoughtful iterations, directed by the wonderful visual designer Petar Pirizovic, we are ready to reveal the next iteration of the Web3ForGood brand.
Why rebranding and why now? As we continue to grow and focus on expanding our reach so that we can share more positive stories, weβve come to realize how important it is for Web3ForGood to have a recognizable presence. Part of being a trusted, welcoming media community means that people need to know and feel good about who Web3ForGood is -- whether thatβs interacting with Web3ForGood on Substack, listening to us present at a conference, reading our content, or communing in any other forum in which we meet in the future as we grow.
We love our new brand because itβs vibrant, fresh, forward-looking, and still classic all at the same time. We hope it inspires newcomers to Web3 tech to create, explore, and learn together, with us, as a Web3ForGood community.
You can learn more about the Web3ForGood visual brand by reviewing the complete brand guidelines here.
Starting today, weβre going to look different everywhere we appear (including Twitter and LinkedIn, two channels that we plan to activate soon). What do you think? Send a note to web3forgood@gmail.com and let us know!
WAGMI (we are going to make an impact!)
P.S. An extra warm welcome to our first guest writer, Tayyab Hussain, who has shared his reflections on Web3 and Digital Rights, after attending RightsCon in Costa Rica last week!

πDigital Rights and Web3: RightsCon Reflections
Web3ForGood contributor Tayyab Hussain recently attended RightsCon in Costa Rica. Here, he shares his reflections from the conference, including an overview of what digital rights are and how Web3 tech can be used to help achieve them.
___
Last week I attended RightsCon, a conference intended to bring people together around advancing human rights particularly in the digital space. As much of our current life is online, we as a society have an obligation to ensure that human rights are updated to encompass the existing and future challenges ahead of us. It was an interesting perspective for me, as I come from the gunslinging world of tech startups, but someone who has always cared deeply about how technology can improve our lives and not become dystopian tools.
What are Digital Rights?
There are several elements to consider for digital human rights such as privacy, freedom of expression, data protection, internet access, digital security, and online harassment. The same way that it is important for someone to have the right to private property in the physical world, or the ability to practice a religion of their choice, the above listed elements allow us to have an unencumbered ability to navigate our digital experiences in a protected way. But, letβs touch on a few of these from above.
Read on for more about his experience in his words.
