gm gm,
Bitcoin is down again, just in time for Thanksgiving dinner in the US next week. If you find yourself cornered at the table trying to explain that this space is actually about what the tech can enable, feel free to slide them this newsletter. May it save you from at least one circular conversation. Godspeed.
WAGMI (we are going to make an impact!)
xx Abeera & Sam
P.S. Don’t forget to celebrate Monthly Earth Day this weekend!

⚡ The Ethereum Interop Layer
Ethereum shared new details this week about the Ethereum Interop Layer, a 2026 upgrade designed to make the entire ecosystem feel like one unified network. Currently, Ethereum is made up of many smaller chains called L2s. They exist to make transactions cheaper and faster, but they often feel like separate worlds. Moving money or identity between them usually requires bridges or specialized wallets, which creates friction and risk.
The new interop layer changes that story. Users will sign once and move across L2s without relying on trusted middlemen. Liquidity providers with deposits on multiple chains will handle the movement in the background, so the whole experience feels seamless. Every app will live on its own chain while still acting like part of a single system.
For social impact work, this unlocks a lot. A unified Ethereum makes it easier to deliver aid, run identity tools, coordinate communities, and move value across borders without confusing technical steps. It lowers the barrier to entry for people and organizations who simply need reliable rails that work anywhere. This is the type of infrastructure shift that brings the ecosystem closer to being useful at real human scale.
Plus:
🚀 The common thread of progress: “[A]ctually, there is something we have in common: A vision of the bold, ambitious technological future. A restless energy, dissatisfied with stagnation and sclerosis. A techno-humanist philosophy that holds human life and well-being as its north star.” (Big Think)
🔦 When Tanzania’s internet went dark, Bitcoin bridged a family across the border: “It was an improvised fix for a problem that most fintech founders are reluctant to discuss: what happens when the internet disappears.” (Tech Cabal)
🏺 Archeologists discover ancient blockchain: “Blockchains are a public display of information, designed to allow anyone to verify who owns and controls what unit of exchange. Monte Sierpe was a public display of information that allowed anyone to verify who had paid what tribute to whom.” (Blockworks)
🪙 Stablecoins, Tokens, and Global Dominance. “In a world where stablecoins, particularly those pegged to the dollar, become an important global payment tool, we must brace ourselves for substantial consequences.“ (International Monetary Fund)
