This Week in Web3forGood
๐ GR15 is ON, Partial Common Ownership Tokens, Jay-Z's Bitcoin Academy
gm gm,
At Web3forGood, we are huge fans of quadratic funding and public goods so naturally, this week is particularly exciting because its Gitcoin Grants time again! GR15 began this week, and you can now browse to find projects that tickle your fancy.
As someone from a developing country, I grew up with limited access to public goods, or letโs say not the best version of public goods. Like roads exist but the condition can be questionable - itโs the government jobs to provide public goods, the government says citizens do not pay taxes so how can we provide what is needed? And the little dance goes on.ย
Quadratic funding gives me hope - like all things in Web3, itโs still evolving but the experiments are exciting and weโre already seeing elements of success. Gitcoin Grants is a perfect example of the power of Web3 to fund and advance public-goods causes. Looking at the evolution of the Gitcoin grants themselves - larger matching pools, better Sybil resistance mechanisms (Go Gitcoin Passports!), and also just a lot more brilliant projects to choose from!
Check out the new GreenPill podcast talking about Gitcoin Grants Round 15 and donate away! Not sure how to get started? Hereโs a guide on how to donate.
xx Abeera (& Sam)
