gm gm,
Thank you so much to everyone who supported Web3ForGood in our first Optimism Retroactive Public Goods Funding (RetroPGF) Round, especially to all the badgeholders who cast their ballot for us. For those unfamiliar with how RetroPGF works, we needed to appear on at least 17 badgeholder ballots (quorum) to be eligible to receive funds, and we received 31, which means… we did it! We can’t say enough how much we appreciate the support, and we can’t wait to report back to you about what happens next.
This week, we’re sharing a special campaign from our friends at The Life You Can Save. Check out how it works and learn more about getting involved, below.

💗 Campaign Spotlight: The Life You Can Save
The Life You Can Save identifies and raises funds for cost-effective and evidence-backed nonprofits that serve the global poor. Throughout December, our friends there are running a Gitcoin Grant round to raise money for its six cause funds, each of which supports multiple outstanding nonprofits with similar missions. A $25,000 matching pool will be allocated across these funds using the quadratic funding algorithm. Donate ETH or DAI to your favorite fund, and help steer the match pool to the cause you think is most important.
The Life You Can Save’s cause funds are a great way to support multiple nonprofits that help people living in extreme poverty with a single donation. Your donation can Save Lives, Transform Lives, Help Women & Girls, Create Economic Opportunity, Tackle Climate Changes, or promote Education for All. In each case, the fund will disperse your gift to highly impactful nonprofits that have strong evidence that their programs really make a difference.
Want to learn more? Drew at Crypto Altruism recently sat down with Jon Behar, Strategic Advisor of The Life You Can Save, to talk about how their using quadratic funding and Gitcoin Grants stack to advance their mission. Listen to the episode here.
US donors who would like to receive a tax-receipt for their donation should email omar@freewillimpact.org prior to giving, and include the amount of their donation and the wallet address it will be coming from in the message.
